an autism conference

The Autism Society of Minnesota is hosting its annual conference on April 28th (Wednesday) - May 1st (Saturday).  I may attend this year because I recognize names of two presenters.

I met Valarie Paradiz (author of Elijah's Cup) many years ago at one of the Autreat conferences.  Zhey is the neurotypical mother of an autistic son.  Zheir book is a good read, and Autreat is a good experience for autistics who can afford the money and attention for a cross-country trip.

Dr. Nancy Minshew is also presenting this year.  I recognize zheir name because zhey organized an autism brain study a few years ago that I failed to join.  I tried.  Three of us local males applied for this particular study.  I got past the initial paper application and the phone interview.  I mailed off a video recording of me talking with someone (sending the videotape to a research center at University of Pittsburgh, I think), but I didn't make their final cut.  Only 1 of us 3 applicants was accepted as a research subject.  They asked permission to keep my information for future possible research, but I've never heard back.

Unfortunately, I have a (participation required) Walk For Animals to attend on Saturday.  I also have a Living Green Expo that I'd like to attend on both Saturday and Sunday.

I'm very sure that I not should attempt all three events.  Curiosity, however, may win.

I would be able to resist baiting the anti-vaccine crowd
