No Man's Sky: Polestar expedition

There's another limited-time (2 months) expedition in No Man's Sky. It's probably the easiest of all of the expeditions. I've got 10 hours into it, and I'm done except for a few minutes of cleaning up on the last quest remaining.

No Man's Sky landscape found during the Endurance expedition. cyan skies, pale geren surfac, egg-shaped rocks, double-winged creatures (like dragonflies, almost) in the skyHere's a landscape that I encountered during this expedition. It's a nice example of what the procedurally generated universe can accomplish.

This Endurance update brings some very nice changes to the game, focusing on the freighter.
  1. Time savers!  Mini-teleport now takes you directly from freighter command to hangar without a long walk.  You can also teleport directly to your freighter from any portal at your base or the local space station.
  2. Lots of new items you can build for use only on your Freighter.  This giant ship is now basically a mobile Base.  If even includes a new room that refines interstellar material to produce Chromatic Metal for you, although it's just a tiny amount.
  3. Room management is now much more extensive.  I'm looking forward to building a gigantic crop facility inside my freighter, for example.  And you can add windows to peer outside!
  4. You can build catwalk elements, for walking around outside of your freighter cabin.
  5. You get to see your own hired crew walking around the freighter cabins.
  6. Black holes are different, and the freighter now has its own independent ability to create a temporary black hole for random jumps across great distance.
  7. If you liked the bioships, then you'll enjoy the new organic frigates too.  Collect space whales for your own fleet.
  8. The asteroid fields are very different now.  I think I like this new format better.
There was a bug with the new update that interfered with the GUI elements.  For about a week, I was unable to target anything directly in front of me.  It's like my gui had only peripheral vision, so I couldn't select icons for targeting.  I filed an official bug report using their website, and it's now fixed this week.
