I'm tired of repeating the same philosophical arguments and getting nowhere. Your first sentence here may be the ultimate issue. It's the emotional part of perceived loss versus perceived gain. I think that's the psychological crux of the problem, where perceived loss is felt more keenly than an equivalent gain. Systemic solutions are always more complicated than just relocating a problem so we can temporarily stop perceiving it. Stupid evolution. ;)
