not there to "protect and serve"
I've said many times that police are not there to "protect and serve". Not even with a protection order. Not even within a government school. Not even at Uvalde's massacre.
Maybe you dismissed my claim as progressive nonsense. Here's a lawyer (YouTube, 15 minutes) describing the U.S. Supreme Court rationale for why it is established case law.
It's infuriating, but it's true.

Speaking of, Michigan state police (remember that police consume huge quantities of budget, everywhere they exist) will stop responding to non-emergency calls because gas prices are too high. It's a tragic comedy. Yet everybody freaks out when some of us call to "defund the police" and spend that same money where it makes a difference.
