a little good news

There's nothing he can do at the moment. It's too early. When the courts mail me a court date, then I should contact him again with court document numbers. Until then, I just wait. He confirmed what the guys in jail told me, that charges in court could come months or even a year later. I don't know at what point the "window of opportunity" expires for formal proceedings on my arrest. I won't recount my version of events that morning at the homeless camp until my jeopardy has expired. I did look up the law I was charged with violating, and it appears that my charges could result in maximum of 90 days in jail and/or $1000 fine.
But, at least for now, I have no worries. And my Day 10 nasal swab test came back negative for COVID-19. So that's some good news. :)
In a semi-related concern, if you were hyperventilating about the 80% kill rate of mice in that SARS-CoV-2 experiment in Boston, don't worry. With some added context from this excellent article, the original Wuhan virus killed 100% of those mice. I don't know what biological feature those mice were bred for, but we're not on the verge of a complete societal collapse for that reason, at least. Take the good news where you can get it. ;)
