Okay, I'm getting desperate and have started applying for jobs a wee bit out of my field of expertise. (Like "train crew" with Union Pacific. They do training.) But I never would have imagined a job that was IT Support / Dental Assistant. I can't decide if I should apply or not. *laugh*

JOB TITLE: Information Technology Associate/Public Health Outreach Specialist
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro
SALARY: DOQ TYPE: Full Time DEADLINE: 2/15/2008
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Responsibilities (15-20 hrs/week):
• Trouble-shoot all technology issues and problems for server, all work-stations (including those at offsite locations), printers, fax machine, x-ray processor, scanner, e-mail (Outlook), and paper shredder
• Establish and maintain network connections
• Ensure proper licensing standards are met, purchasing additional licenses and installing software if necessary
• Ensure up to date and proper versions of all CDS software are being used
• Maintain sufficient inventory levels of all computer-related products in the office
• Research and make recommendations to place orders for computer/technology purchases

Public Health Outreach Responsibilities (20-25 hrs/week):
• General clerical/reception duties as required, including but not limited to screening calls, making and confirming appointments, insurance verification, billing, and reconciling patient accounts.
• Provide patients with assistance in obtaining health coverage.
• Perform dental screenings in various school-based communities.
• Assist in production of multicultural oral health outreach materials
• Work one late night a week, either Tuesday or Wednesday.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
Familiarity with Operating Systems and Microsoft Exchange required.
Familiarity with Dental Software, Dentrix, and Gendex Scanner strongly preferred.
Public and/or community health interest or experience is essential. Information Technology background and experience required. Work requires strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in Spanish/English, Oromo/ English or Somali/English a strong asset. Comfort or experience working in a multi-cultural environment preferred. Knowledge of or interest in medical assistance programs or health policy and legal issues are helpful.
