mellowtigger: (schrodinger's cat)
I was planning to walk at the Walk tomorrow. But my two coworkers are both going to be on site helping at the event, so I'm staying at home being the on-call person so I can (hopefully) solve any IT issues that crop up. The shelters will be open for an even longer time tomorrow, so the customer service desks will probably be doing a lot of business. Maybe just as well that I stay home, since we have snow forecast for tomorrow morning. (Yes, snow in May.  Argh!) At least the afternoon is supposed to be above freezing and sunny.

I did spend most of today helping preparations at the Golden Valley location, even out in the cold rain. I set up tables, chairs, tents, and flags. I hauled boxes around. And I still managed to do 1 or 2 tech chores in between. So I've done my part to help out the event, I think. Still, if anyone wants to make a last-minute donation, you can do that here.

I'm also disappointed that it means I won't be attending the May Day celebration (YouTube clip) on Sunday. *big disappointed sigh* It's a great pagan celebration, attended by lots and lots of people, around one of the local parks in Minneapolis. I've been feeling cooped up and tied down, so I'd really like to get outside in the sunshine. I'm not so keen on this on-call concept. A person should either be at work or not at work. Being in a state that might or might not be at work or free... that's just confusing.
