I've had one broccoli plant slowly blooming for months. Another one, though, kept its crown intact until about last week. Now suddenly the whole thing is exploding in blooms. Once again, it's very pretty for something that's supposed to just be "food".
Why aren't more of our flower gardens (and yards in general) filled with edible things? I've been reading "Weed 'Em and Reap" recently, and it makes me glad that I've already been experimenting with such things. (It also makes me a little sad that I have no land on which to experiment on a larger scale, but that's a different issue. I want 10 acres and lots of rainfall.)

*stomach grumble* Now I'm hungry.
