weather:
The snow is falling heavily outside my window this morning.  When can I go plant stuff in the garden at last???

dna:
Too many things going on.  I didn't attend to my dna project as I'd sort of planned on doing this weekend.  No progress there.

NoLAR:
No single person stepped up to help organize the conference again this year.  So it's back to me as the principle organizer.  It's good that we'll have the 3rd annual event (assuming we figure out grant money and site location on such little notice), but I am a little disappointed that it still relies on me to make it happen.  There are other volunteers, though, and it looks like we might have a graphic to go with it this year finally.

money:
I lost $50 for missing work yesterday.  I paid $200 on miscellaneous car repairs that needed to be done.   So I'm out 1/4 of a grand, yet the car is still not "fixed".  I was intending to do some repair work by myself on Sunday, but my car manual did not cover how to work on a 2.4L engine as it was supposed to.  It only mentioned 2.0L and 3.0L designs.  They didn't look exactly like my engine, so I closed the hood without getting into anything at all.  *sigh*

automobile:
Even so, my car wouldn't start Monday as I was heading to work.  I called the repair shop for a tow truck and got put on hold.  Now that I have a pre-pay phone that costs money per minute used, I was sensitive about the 5 minutes I was on hold.  I used my time to continue trying to start my car.  After about 10 tries, it finally kicked in on its own (with a cloud of blue smoke from the tailpipe).  I hung up the phone and drove straight to the repair shop.  They did not identify the cause of the start failure.  They said the computer logs showed a "misfire" but they couldn't reproduce it.  They cleared the log and said to bring it back in if it happens again.  *more sighs*

"According to a statement of facts, the cult members stopped feeding the boy when he refused to say "Amen" after a meal. After Javon died, Ramkissoon sat next to his decomposing body and prayed for his resurrection."

Stuff like this makes me wish that all of humanity would just grow up and go atheist.  More than one autistic child has died while being "exorcised" of his demon.  I'm tired of all so-called omniscient and omnipotent deities.  I like it better when deities have frailties that force humans to rely on their own abilities to survive instead of just giving up all of their authority to a better-qualified imaginary friend.

Monotheism is not my friend today.  It's a cult only when it happens to somebody else's denomination.

mod +1: Urge to go walk into the forest and not come back.
