Animals: Last week, my organization adopted 250 animals out to new homes. Here are some new candidates from our Golden Valley facility.
This pitbull puppy is only 8 weeks old, and I expect
Elsie to disappear to a new home very quickly. She doesn't really need the special attention here on Furry Friday, but really... have you ever seen a cuter face than this?

Someone who does need some help finding a home, though, is
Sniffles. He is a 7-year-old neutered male, domestic mediumhair. He spent 4.5 years in his former home before they decided that they couldn't keep up with a pet ("inadequate facilities"). Unlike other cats I see who are missing the ends of their ears, Sniffles has them with some strange folds. They appear sort of curled up. He was friendly when I met him, but I suspect it'll take a special adopter to look past his odd appearance and offer him a new home.

Finally, we have
Sunspot and
Thunder. They are a pair of adult female doves. Their previous owner moved and needed to give up these birds as part of the transition. I've enjoyed spending some time watching them groom each other. They're a friendly pair. I don't normally notice the birds much, but they are a cute couple.
How to help: Check with your local shelter to see if they offer rabbits and small rodents. If so, they could probably use your old cardboard rolls from used paper towels or toilet paper. They make great gnawing material for creatures that like to nibble. If you contribute them to AHS, just save up a bag of them and take them to the adoption counter at the facility nearest you.
We are still in the midst of our annual fundraising drive. If you'd like to contribute money online, you may do so at my account:
