misc updates
2009-May-12, Tuesday 09:32 amToo much going on. :( I haven't been outside much either. For the last week, mornings have been near freezing temperatures, so I just haven't been gardening or riding my bicycle recently. When does summer finally arrive?
I think I mixed up two packets of my seeds saved from last year. What was supposed to be strawberry spinach is looking more and more like the leaves of a california poppy. *sigh*
I had bloody digestive tract for almost 3 days. I stopped taking my allergy medication, and it seemed to clear up the next day. Guess I'll just be suffering my sinuses for a while. Hopefully the allergens are nearly out of season.
Job #1: We made our fundraising goal, so I guess my regular job is safe for the rest of the year. That's good.
Job #2: Still no word about sponsorship of the next autism conference. If I were doing my job better, I'd have already sent out letters requesting money to additional organizations. I need more attention to give. :/
Job #3: In addition to my regular job, I'm also working extra hours on a 2nd project. For the same pay as before (which is low), I'm also now developing an Access database. Combination of data definitions, SQL queries, Access forms, and VB modules. I go to work in the morning to work on this project. It'll last for a few more weeks.
Job #4: We're upgrading to a new database system for our whole organization, too. I'll be putting in hours late in the evening (any time after 9pm) to upgrade computers after people have left for the day.
Job #5: Several weeks ago, I reserved a domain name (http://bearlyinvolved.org) but I still haven't done any work on it. I intend to focus on sustainable living contests to encourage people to change their behaviors. Maybe after everything else stops dragging at my attention.
And obviously my investigation of the autism/dna stuff has stopped. Too much going on. I hope to pick up on it later.
I discovered last week that the programmer guy who was beginning to catch my interest is only 25 years old (as of last week). Yikes. No, I should be looking for someone who already has a history of dating "challenges". Like someone who's dated a man who was blind or deaf. Someone with experience already, rather than someone who needs time to make a whole new list of learning mistakes. We can't both be goofing up at the same time. *laugh*
Or... wait a few more years. T'Reese is no spring chicken, as the saying goes. When she doesn't need me, then wander off and focus on base animal survival instead of societal survival. I guess I like challenges too... although some kinds a lot more than other kinds.
This morning, I watched "Sunrise Earth" on HDTV. Very nice images. Even prettier than before.
kauko was right.
