Doh! At 6:35pm today, I got my first muscle twitch. It was near my left elbow.

That's a whole 6 days without a twitch, from Friday evening to Thursday evening.

Now if I could just figure out what caused it to disappear for so long (or return today). My thoughts so far roam far and wide:

  • Vitamin D: I spent lots more time in sunlight during the trip than usually do.
  • Vitamin B12: I ate 2 packages of beef jerky, probably more meat (by mass) than I usually eat in a short span of time.
  • Ammonia: I spent a long time away from my cat whose litterbox is in my bedroom.
  • Stress: Being away from noise/lights/people (except for my guide) is surely a good thing for me in any condition.
  • Spinal Fluid Pressure: Carrying weight during backpacking must have added some non-zero amount of compression to my spine, causing an increase in the pressure of the fluid inside it.
  • Chlorine, Flouride: I spent a few days without either drinking or showering in treated water, temporarily eliminating my exposure to both chemicals.

So far nothing grabs my attention as a likely culprit.
