spring is due

At least we're due for near-freezing or even above-freezing temperatures for the next few days, so it's already beginning to melt. I hear the avalanches as icicles and snow fall from my steep roof.
So far, I've successfully avoided the urge to buy seeds and start them indoors. I'll try to make it to mid-March before I do that. Our weather still kills plants in April at night, so I need to be cautious.
I envy the photos I'm already seeing online of other northern-hemisphere gardeners seeing evidence of plant growth. The ground here is still frozen solid, so I won't be able even to dig a hole for more than a month, unless we get lucky and have some early "hot" days.
Now I'm off to a beekeeping discussion a few blocks away, then a nearby brewpub for a social event. Assuming I can get my car out from where it's parked. I haven't seen the snowplows today after last night's snowfall. The residential street is pretty well covered in a few inches of snow.
