it's snowing in May
2019-May-08, Wednesday 06:49 pmNormally, I put seeds into flats in March, then I can put sprouted seedlings into the thawed ground sometime in April. I kept delaying putting seeds into flats this year, because we kept having below-freezing weather in the forecast. Now I'm glad that I never did. It's currently raining and near-freezing outside. Elsewhere in Minnesota it's already snowing, but the Minneapolis forecast shows a negligible amount of snow around 5am tonight on Thursday morning.
Here's a photo from the last big snow here in Minneapolis on April 11th, just 1 month ago. Like last year, winter is dragging on much longer than usual.
At least the ground has melted. I've done a small bit of yard work already. I transplanted some blackberry canes. I put a few bulbs in the ground (flowers, onions, and garlic). I still haven't done anything with seeds or seedlings. I mean...
