birthday weekend

I didn't get a single trick-or-treater this year. Not one. I finally turned off my orange decoration lights around 8pm and just gave up. I looked outside. Nobody wandered up and down the street. No cars drove by looking for patios with lights on. Very disappointing.

Sure, it was cold outside, but I've had people show up in cold weather in previous years. I asked at the old house, where Halloween is much bigger event. They had a slow year too. I wonder if the depressed national mood has anything to do with it.

Now I need to figure out if there's any charity where I can give this big sack of candy.

It's almost 11am on Saturday now, and there's snow on the ground. It's sticking in the yard. It will be a rough winter this year. I'm already not looking forward to it.

And tomorrow is the Bernie Sanders rally, which I plan to attend. They already had to move it from a smaller stadium (2,700 people) to a bigger stadium (14.6K) because of all the people RSVPing.

This Twitter photo is from a recent New York event where the crowd was estimated at 26K people.  That's significantly more than the 19K at Trump's recent rally in Minneapolis.  The election is still a year away, and Bernie is drawing crowds like this.  I still think that #BernieWouldveWon in 2016.
