I exited work today
2022-Jun-03, Friday 12:55 pmToday was my last day at work. I turned in all of my equipment and cards, cleaned my cubicle, and turned in my paperwork.
On the way home from the office, I stopped twice to buy some frozen pepperoni pizza (gluten free) and raspberry sour ale made by my favorite local brewery. To celebrate, maybe? To be honest, though, I just don't know how I feel about quitting. My reason for writing my resignation letter at this time is 100% legitimate. On that topic, my next "Moody Monday" post (already written) will be significant news.
I guess I'll spend the afternoon cutting back on my expenses. Reduce my mortgage payment to minimum, drop my HboMax subscription, drop my recurring Patreon donations, drop my web/news subscriptions. I don't think I could hold out an entire year (maybe though?), but I don't have to decide in the immediate weeks ahead whether to sell my house or not. I'll keep up the job hunt a little while longer.
I already talked to a headhunter about finding me a 100% remote job. I'll try to talk with him in person on Monday.
