I had a rare home visitor today
2022-Nov-03, Thursday 12:23 pmI have done zero jobhunting this week. Instead, I focused on getting some more trash out of the house. I carried too many things for too many years during too many moves, and I'm trying to simplify now before another potential move.
I still hope to stay in this house, though. Some tall ornamental grass I planted in the back yard 2 years ago is finally this winter showing some plumes. When I look out the window, I see plants that are beginning to fill in finally. I want to see this space grow more fully.
I passed the gas meter inspection today. No corrosion, so no expensive costs in my immediate future. That's good. These events are the few times I ever have people inside my house. It's probably been more than a year since anyone else has stepped inside.
That's good for my peace of mind, but it's bad for household sanitation, since I'm definitely not a "Clean Regularly" kind of guy. In between building the box yesterday, I also worked this week on cleaning the basement and main floor. He seemed to appreciate not having to wave through cobwebs to get to the equipment in the basement. He said, "Most people don't do that." I wore my elastomeric FloMask while he was inside, and I had some windows open too. I'll probably keep wearing another hour or so, until I can reasonably think that any exhaled virus is gone from indoors. The steady wind blowing through the windows is conveniently helping.
