cold in Minneapolis

It's -18C/0F in Minneapolis this morning. It's annoying to think that the box elder bugs will survive outside just fine, and they'll be swarming the house again in a few months when spring arrives and pooping over everything indoors. I hope scientists somewhere are putting this information to good use, learning the biological secrets of these bugs.

Local Minnesota curmudgeon P.Z. Myers studies spiders, but his interests are fixed on that group of bugs.
