jobhunt frustration

I feel like it isn't going well this month, with a few more rejection letters received. It seems like the 100% remote opportunities, which had resumed for a few weeks, have disappeared again. A headhunter contacted me for a job position that was a good match for duties and hours in Minneapolis, but it was entirely on-site work, so I declined. :(

I saw this hybrid job today which was only a 3-day-old listing. I looked up the location (1-hour 2-transfer bus ride for each one-way trip to the corporate office), and considered that maybe a healthcare setting would still keep mask requirements. I decided even the current drama with Fairview might not affect job stability for this position. Finally, after a long time spent researching online, I clicked the Apply button only to discover that the official listing on their career website is not visible. Ugh. I'll never get that time back.

I found another one that looks like a good match. At first I was concerned about our overarching priorities being compatible, given the nature of their industry, but they do a lot of work with non-profits, and lifetime loyalty is a business-centric way of thinking about long term sustainable practices, so I think it's a good fit after all. Unfortunately, they ask for salary on the application form. That's unfortunate. They already know the range, so it should have been part of the job listing, as some government jurisdictions are finally beginning to require. That's a good change. I dunno, I entered $45K for my salary, since that was listed as the median pay for that job title.

Webpages for entering resume details that lose all of the entered information if you accidentally touch the backspace key (backwards navigation in web browsers) are evil scourges upon humanity. ;) Now, it's almost 2pm, and I still haven't eaten any food today. It's time to drop the jobhunting so I can go forage.
