heavy snow

I think last night's precipitation was the heaviest (as in weightiest, not deepest) snow we had this winter season. I'm guessing it was about 18cm/7in at my house. The totals now make this season the 3rd snowiest winter on record in Minneapolis.

This snow was super heavy stuff. Normally, I'll take a shovel and, you know, shove the tool to gather snow. This time, it was hard work just to lift what was already there under the blade at the first dig. Also, I had to turn the shovel upside down and tap it to dump the clingy snow from the shovel. I did that every 3rd shovel. It was tiring work.

But it sure was beautiful on the landscape. Look at this back yard photo, with the heavy accumulation bending branches downward.
