a slow day
2023-Sep-22, Friday 04:54 pmI was intending to do yard work today or yesterday, at long last.
It didn't happen.
I did, though, finally schedule a tree trimmer to come next week to estimate cutting off a large limb in my back yard that is throwing smaller limbs into my electrical line to my house. Whatever the estimate is, I just need it done. I can't risk losing electricity in my house in the next big storm. My electrical line is already bending at a clearly unwelcome angle next to my house.
I also got my water filter screwed into the wall under the sink, instead of sitting on the floor of the cabinet under the sink. I did a bad job of it. The screws may hold until a year from now when it's time to change the filter, but I don't expect it to survive that manhandling. I may have drilled slightly too large a hole to begin with, and the cabinet wall under the sink seems very thin (too thin to hold the screws tightly), but then I also messed up with the screws. It's a very awkward angle, and I have bifocals, and it was unpleasant to do. But at least it's finally done.
Plus, the usual grocery store trips... and updating my insurance coverage at the local healthcare clinic. And I did get outside long enough to cut off some unwelcome tree saplings in my front yard.
I wasn't a total bum during my "weekend", at least. I'll wake up around 5am tomorrow to begin my next work week.
