Agreed, critters this big would pretty much have to be a bumblebee, I think?
I know there are beekeepers here in the warzone, because about 3 years ago I met a few of them at a local coffeehouse where they talked about their experience getting certified for the city by the University of Minnesota. If I can find them again, maybe I can show them my blurry photos and ask if they recognize the types.
