it's hot out there

As I'm writing this post, it's 34.4C/94F in Minneapolis. We're now under water restrictions in the city, because the drought continues.
I mentioned before that the previous heat wave hurt my garden. It's happening again now. These cup plants and spaghetti squash look really bad. I'll be allowed to water tomorrow, so I'll have to remember to get out the garden hose after work on Monday.

I mentioned juneberries previously, and here's one with the fruit that just burned to a crisp before it fully developed. It's still there on the stem. Many of the ferns are hurting too.

I think I've found some evidence of raccoons in my yard. I spent a while on websites trying to identify this poop. It looks very much like the photos on this page. It's black, long and round, but covered with bird seed. The neighbors next door have bird feeders in their back yard. This poop looks rather dry, but that is exactly what's happening here right now.
I'll leave a bowl of water out on the back porch tonight.
