i'm not changing the world

It's been a month since I created the sars2.org website.  I'm not doing a great job of changing the world.  In spite of the many hours I've spent trying to curate links for it and more hours spent on Twitter trying to promote it, only 6,100 people have viewed it according to Google Analytics.  It's definitely not the viral hit that I hoped for.

On the other hand, this morning the Editor In Chief of Scientific American liked my tweet mentioning it.  Hopefully it wasn't just a reflexive (or scripted) auto-like.


A physicist tweeted, "nice work".  That's about all I have to show for my efforts.

I'll continue, of course.  I think the information is important, so I'll continue.  Even if I'm the only one who reads it.

It's the "sars2info" account in those linked threads. I created it shortly after creating the website, so I could divert all of my SARS-CoV-2 posts there. It hasn't much helped, judging by the numbers.

I'm glad to see that article closes with a rational warning note. The "head in the sand" happening everywhere is so... something.

P.S. Ah, of course. That's the word: struthonian.

I recently learned a new word:

denotes a person who ignores facts

how unfortunate it is
