Minneapolis drama affects national and international politics

Unless I find a job (100% remote for viral safety) soon, it's still possible that I will not be in Minneapolis by this time next year.  It's hard to imagine, though.  Why is Minneapolis so popular?  This video explains some of its uniqueness.  As I've told people many times, this metro area is not the #1 destination for any immigrant population in the USA, but it's the #2 destination for nearly all of them.  I was reminded of the multiculturalism here with the announcement of "Guyana Night" to celebrate Caribbean culture in the area.  I wish I was still doing "people stuff", but... pandemic.

Even people who wouldn't live here notice what goes on in Minneapolis.  On Wednesday, a Chinese official tweeted propaganda that used a photo of our local police manhandling a homeless person during an encampment eviction. Thankfully, an account that opposes and responds to Minneapolis camp evictions noticed it.  That Chinese official isn't wrong, though.  Capitalism does have its profound failures to answer for.

And apparently Pete Buttegieg is planning another presidential campaign. He's at our Minnesota State Fair this week. Someone posted this image of him with our Mayor Frey.  It amuses me that people aren't having any of it, instead creating their own quotes for the scenario.
