Lysistrata! Have you seen the actual play or read it, or both? I have just seen it; started to read it but I didn't finished it -bad, bad reader on this one! :o) I truly liked the play though, and I even have a short story about it. I saw it the first time when I was studying in Mexico City and Lysistrata was to be played by a mexican actress, a true BIG DIVA who's name was Ofelia Guilmain. Critics were exceptic from the start because she was then in her erly 60's! However, once the play was over she did such a WONDERFUL interpretation that a lot of people, me included, went to see it for a second time! I went to see this play again many years later here in La Paz by a very interesting, but short-lived, theatre group that made a kind of "rescue" of the original greek style. They even used replicas of the original greek masks for the play. The rendering had a much marked comic twist too. It was great to see this other version! The group even offered a small workshop to make masks, which I took! :o) Thank you my friend, for bringing to me these cherished memories. Warm hugs, If I may, Luis.
