hamstring

On Monday, at noon I called the local fire department to ask if there were any fire bans due to the drought. There weren't, so after work I burned a lot of garden waste in the fire pit. Somehow in that process, I strained my left hamstring and right glute. On Tuesday, I cut significantly short my usual walk during lunch break. On Wednesday, I went a little farther. Yesterday, everything seemed fine, but I didn't take any walks because of the cold rain.

Today, I was surprised by a visit from the repairman who was scheduled for my winter tuneup. He checked and cleaned the air heater, water heater, and refrigerator coils. To help with space for him to work, I lifted and moved my electric lawn mower out of the way. Doing so, I felt an unpleasant pop from my left hamstring, and now it's hurting again.

I intended to go to the asian grocery after the repairman left. I got about a block away from my house before deciding, "Nope, that's not happening today," and I turned back toward home. That's on top of the arthritis that still seems worse than usual during the last few weeks. I'm not a fan of old body parts needing repairs that won't come.

Surprisingly, there's still snow on the ground outside. I expected it to disappear almost immediately after it fell yesterday.
