I'm not in nearly as good a shape as I imagine myself to be.  Lifting computers and printers at work does not adequately prepare me for spending 5 hours digging sod and moving it elsewhere.

I spent all Saturday afternoon creating a new garden area in the back yard.  Afterwards, I splurged and ordered pizza delivery.  I ate some pizza and then took a shower... and then took a hot bath with Mr. Bubble.  (I'm glad they still make Mr. Bubble.  Although I suspect that bathing with Dirty Bert might be a different experience than bathing alone.)  I hurt all evening and didn't sleep very well even though I was exhausted.

Yesterday morning was still 27F when I got up, but today started warmer at 38F.  The wind and the overcast skies make it seem a lot cooler though.  But at least today I got my sprouts planted in the soil that I cleared off yesterday.

I now have sunflower, popcorn, sweet corn (yellow), sweet corn (red), sweet pea, long bean, okra, basil, celery, cantaloupe, and watermelon planted.  I'll work later on the more delicate herbs and lettuce in the smaller garden areas.  I'm tired again.  I hope at least a few of the plants survive the transition to full sunlight.

Ok that garden sounds delicious! My mom has a pretty big garden and I'm hoping we can plant one when get moved, though I'm willing to bet we'd do better with an indoor garden since there's a lot of cold weather where we're going.

We're trying our hands at gardening this year. It makes the coming of spring seem extra vibrant, especially after this bitterly cold winter.
