feeling spring

I want to go play in the dirt, frolic in the sun, and giggle in romantic delirium.  Instead, I place my empty seed trays at the window sill underneath my new LED grow light and snarl at the pile of snow outside that has grown far too old in my mind.  Weeks spent editing, however, have yielded a very nice garden plan for this year!

The same pile of snow has been on the ground for 2 months.  It's been depleted a little... and then refreshed a little.  I expect it to remain unaffected for another month.  Give it another 6 weeks after that to slowly melt away.  I hear somebody running a snow blower this morning.

Here's December 25th on the left and February 15th on the right.


I want spring.  Mother Nature seldom listens to me, though.

I'll be curious to see how you like the LED grow light. Erik bought one and ended up uying the metal halide lamp instead. The LED grow light is now collecting dust in a closet I think. We've managed to overwinter some herbs (The parsley is especially happy) and a couple geraniums, but not had much success with the other plants we tried.

Do you know which one he bought? I was intending to buy the EarthLED light, but I accidentally goofed and clicked on my other choice the Sunshine Systems light. I haven't used it with any plants yet, but it's super bright. Instructions said to keep it 6-18 inches above the plants, and it covers a 5 foot square area.

Erik bought the same one you did. He just gave up on it early I think. I'll be curious to see what you think. If you like it, we have another one you can have really cheap!
