Furry Friday
2009-Mar-20, Friday 08:14 amI think she looks just like a coyote! That's what grabbed my attention as soon as I saw her. I've visited her at her cage a few times and she's always been a very quiet and submissive girl, leaning her body against the chainlink gate to solicit petting. Her fur is kind of soft too. I'd like to have her at home, myself. I really hope that someone I know (a reader here at LiveJournal?) will adopt her and then invite me over frequently for visits. :)
Both Tiki and Izzie are currently available for adoption at the Golden Valley shelter.
Story: I admit that I am smitten by Izzie, so I was surprised that she had been at our shelter for a whole week. I thought she would have disappeared right away. I spoke with a manager about her, and we came to discover that she had a "hold" on her status in our computer system. It seems there was a human data entry error made on her record earlier, but it wasn't corrected right away. I'm sure the error would have been noticed by now, except that we also had a serious database problem earlier this week that distracted everyone from noticing this smaller human-caused error. I've been obsessing on this dog, though, so we found the mistake and she is back on adoptable status. I'm sure she will be adopted soon... I just wish it was me that would be adopting her!
How to help: You know how annoying it is to see advertisements on the webpage where you're doing your web searches, with someone getting money off of your activity? Well, what if you could direct where some of that advertising revenue was going? It turns out that you can! A site called GoodSearch.com allows you to select a charity, and some of the money raised by the site will be directed to your chosen organization. It's not a lot of money, but any little bit helps. If you're going to be doing searches on the web anyway, it's an easy thing to do your searching at GoodSearch.com. If you want to help my organization, you can select "Animal Humane Society (Golden Valley, MN)" at their site. Or choose your local animal shelter to help them out too.
