misc updates

I've mostly just slept and catnapped during this holiday.  Probably a good thing. 

health:  Today I finally have no more infection in my left ear.  My finger is being tingly, but still no sign of infection.  I'm curious why the photo still doesn't show the bruising.  Is it an optical illusion (like the moon on the horizon) where my mind exaggerates the perceived effect, or is the camera really not catching a shade of blue that it should be?  I can see the edge of the torn triangle of skin starting to peel up finally, so during this next week I'll probably see the rest of it turn white and dry up finally.

garden:  I avoided gardening because of the injured finger.  I took these photos, though, of the plants in bloom.  If I didn't know better, I'd guess that this image was "carnations with baby's breath" but it's actually "poppies with cilantro".  And here's a photo of the small garden area that was supposed to be filled with strawberry-spinach, except that I got the seeds confused with poppies.

I'll probably try to at least mow the lawn today (after putting on another bandaid first).

movies:  While catnapping, I've been watching television.  I saw once again a good Twilight Zone episode that involves no dialog whatsoever for the 30 minute episode (except for Rod Serling's narration at the beginning and end.  "The Invaders" was well done.  Also, I saw a South Korean film on the Sundance channel that was very good, despite the title.  Translated, the title means "I'm a cyborg, but that's okay."  The special effects are well done, and the story is even better.
