2009-Jul-09, Thursday 05:10 amWell, I see daylight beginning to appear in the sky this morning. I haven't slept at all tonight. I did try, but I failed for 2 hours and finally gave up. I've been catching up on reading forum posts at wrongplanet.net tonight. I stopped reading there a very long time ago because at the time it seemed a rather hostile place. Maybe I'm just choosing better topics this time, but seems a lot calmer now.
I've been catching up on the dating/romance sections. There seem to be very few autistic/autistic pairings, which is something that
bitterlawngnome asked me about earlier. Judging by the available commentary, such relationships seem to convey no overall advantage. There do, however, seem to be a lot of autistic/cousin pairings... meaning that one partner is diagnosed and the other partner has some similar qualities but not enough for diagnosis. Maybe it helps to have at least one person with a social instinct to get things started?
I found a few posts from people also considering the idea of not dating for life. Those posts also mentioned the key phrase "inflicting oneself" on someone else as the concern. I tried to contribute to the threads by offering the detailed text in my recent post. Their forum, however, prevents me from putting any kind of url (I even heavily edited it to try to escape the filter) because I've never posted at the site before. I've been a member since 2004, but I guess half a decade of association is insufficient merit. (They have my sympathies, though. I've operated a forum and had to take drastic measures to cut back on spam too.)
I'm going to be burned out today at work. :( And I'm going to see the sci-fi mystery "Moon" with the local bears at 7pm too.
It's a caffeine day for me, I think.
