I thought conservatives were decrying the expansion of health coverage to all Americans because there weren't enough doctors to meet the need of all those extra people... and we don't want to delay our own speedy appointments in any gesture of compassion and camaraderie.
Well, apparently there aren't enough doctors already. (Too many Americans denying the evolution of bacteria and so unable to pass their medical exams?) I was originally supposed to have my neurologist meeting this morning, before it was canceled last week. I called today to get another scheduled appointment rather than waiting around on a list for someone else to cancel. They said I already had an appointment...

Criminy, 4 months from now? I mean, this has been going on for 4 years already so I guess I can wait. But, really, 4 months? She checked with another doctor there, but he was also booked into May.
The thing about the particular health program I signed up with (UCare) is that I can go see any specialist listed in their network, even without a referral from a primary care doctor. I guess tonight I'll be looking through the Big Book O' Doctors they sent me. I'll try to come up with a list of neurologists to start calling during the day.
