moving my money:  I'm still happy about moving my accounts.  I keep getting offers from Chase, American Express, and even special notices from Wells Fargo.  I checked my last statement.  My credit card limit was $15K rather than $16K.  Interest rate on purchases was 17.10% (23.99% on cash advances).  On my new card, I get a 9.9% rate, and the minimum monthly payment is higher.  I approve on both points.

Along those lines, I finally called today to cancel my 9-year-old Discover card.  I listened to a very long spiel with many valid points about why I should keep the card.  She pointed out that there was no annual fee to keep the card with zero balance (as I have for more years than I can remember), and she offered 1.9% interest rate.  I still said no and closed the account.  I'd rather any debt money that I create (which itself is bad enough) go to the local credit union instead of a multinational corporation.  Yay for me.  :)

vehicle insurance:  I envy countries where people can do all of their auto insurance shopping on the web.  Talking to salespeople in an office is just confusing.  I managed to get about $150 taken off the annual cost, although now I pay for any repairs to my own vehicle if the accident is my fault.  I still ought to check out Geico or other places online.  I'm sure I can shave off more money.  I'm making a second trip later today to deliver a voided check to them so they can continue the monthly deductions on my new bank (credit union) account.

health coverage:  I got my February payment made using the link that [livejournal.com profile] huladavid provided.  It's annoying that my membership card does not provide all the data fields that I need to make payments.  I had to go digging for paperwork to get case number and invoice number.  I wrote all that info onto my insurance card so I have it available next month.  Eventually, I need to tell them that I got a pay adjustment (increase) at work, since my earnings affect the sliding scale payments that I make.  I called them today and waited on hold for a while before giving up.  I'll find out on my paycheck tomorrow if it went into effect as planned.  I'll give MN Care another call after my new salary is confirmed.

nolar.org:  I've started the process of consolidating here too.  I'm moving hosting back to the site where it's registered, enom.  Now I need to figure out how to upload the pages on the new server(s), so the site isn't interrupted.  (Not that anybody would notice.  *laugh*)
