a very brief dream
2021-Aug-21, Saturday 08:51 amI had 2 connected dreams last night, but very brief. It's my first remembered dream of 2021, apparently.
I woke up around 3:30am, already forgetting why the moon was so important. I pondered it for a minute but couldn't remember. I was awake for about an hour. During that time, and I heard some distant gunshots here in the #WarzoneInMinneapolis. Sometime afterward, I fell asleep again...
I admit a few weeks ago I had the thought that the drug cartels in Mexico must be having a hard time now that the USA is slowly legalizing marijuana and has less need for their services now. I must've paired local gun violence with theirs in that second dream.
Looking outside the window today, it appears that we did get some rain last night from the cool front that passed through. I never heard the thunderstorms that were predicted. I'm sure we never got the extensive rain that was hoped for. There's still a massive wildfire burning in Minnesota causing evacuations. There are still growing protests to #StopLine3 oil sands pipeline from crossing our state.
I was in a very large bed with Carl. We both laid on our left sides. I was the big spoon, with my right arm around him. I would occasionally kiss the back of his neck. Within the dream, the phase of the moon was extremely important. The moon was crescent, although I don't remember if it was waxing or waning.

We had some trouble sleeping because of the unrest in Mexico. We were living or vacationing in Mexico? Is that where that bed was?
