I'll write more someday about the particulars, but I finally got myself an under-sink water purifier. At this house, I've mostly used just straight tapwater, but occasionally I would fumble around with an on-the-faucet small filter. This will be much more convenient for me to have my own filtered-water faucet at the sink. Unfortunately, this one came with parts that assume you're delivering all the water back to the main faucet. I didn't have parts for diverting the cold water to two lines.

I walked to the local hardware store to buy the needed T-shape adapter. They didn't have that particular size, so I walked back home again. I ordered it online to arrive after 1 week. Afterwards, I realized that I also lacked another water hose that I will need. I'll walk to the hardware store when I'm ready to install it next week, since I'm sure they'll have some simple hose.

Since my house has only a single cut-off where the water main comes into the house, I took advantage of this "dry" condition to also drain the water heater. Then I decided not to wait for the new part. I'll live without cold water at the main tap for a week or two. I hooked up the hoses to the filter then to the small side faucet. After an initial mistake or two, everything is pressurized without leaking.

I have filtered water! Now I'm tired and sweaty and need a nap. The weather here is starting to feel muggy after the recent rain. Since today is my "Saturday", I may indulge that nap now. I got something accomplished today, and that'll have to suffice.
