I just hauled stuff to the recycling bin in my alley. Walking down the path in the middle of my back yard, I scared off a rabbit that was hiding right next to my path, under the leaf cover there.
I've seen rabbits here during cold weather. Since I had the dog, I think that might be the first time I've seen a rabbit during warm weather in my back yard. I guess my yard finally stopped smelling like a carnivore playground.
The herbivores are back, baby! Yeah!
Edit: P.S. I had my clippers in hand and was ready to cut down some stray tree saplings from my front yard, but I got distracted by the need to feed a local stray cat. I put some dry kibble out front and am now staying inside my house to give it space. Any excuse to not do yardwork, right? Also, I seem to be sending mixed signals here. Is this space for herbivores or carnivores?
