some days, the garden wins

My eye still stings slightly, several hours after I smacked it. I still managed to do a small bit of gardening, but I'm more worse for wear than usual.

I had my glasses on, as usual. I was cutting more unwanted treelings from my back yard. I picked up one of them after I cut it down, then I carried it to the fire pit for burning on another day. It got its revenge. A small spindly twig from that branch smacked my face, catching my eye underneath the glasses. My eye cried slightly for a half hour of so, but I managed to continue gardening through it, after first visiting a mirror in the bathroom to make sure there wasn't severe damage. There's not.

About 8 hours later, though, it still smarts. At least I've removed all of the various burrs and splinters from my hands and legs. I've had my shower. I'm hoping for a good night of rest.
