Yes, I've been AWOL lately.  I've been avoiding all news sources, since most of what I learn about the world these days just upsets me.  I've buried my attention into Google+ games to isolate myself.  I finally have a post-worthy event, though.

What is blooming or fruiting in Minnesota these days?  My allergies are really bad right now.  My sinuses are starting to clog up from all the crud they're producing.  I've been sneezing and blowing my nose all weekend.  I brush up against grass and my skin itches for an hour or two.

I've tried taking a few antihistamines that barely take the edge off of the misery.  I've even started running the air filter in my bedroom, and I haven't used that little machine in nearly a decade.

My temperature has risen slightly, but so far I've managed to escape any bad sinus infection from all the blockage.

I've been sneezing up a storm lately too.

I was thinking it was because I haven't been taking any antihistamines since they put me on blood thinner and beta-blocker.

But if they aren't working for you, then chances are they wouldn't help me either. In past years, I would have these periods of sneeziness even though I've been taking the antihistamines daily. So I think I'll continue to tough it out and hopefully don't throw my back out of whack or pop an ear-drum.

At least it's not year-round here, and the juniper pollen isn't so thick that people mistakenly call the fire department because of the haze hanging over the countryside, and the settlers didn't coin the phrase "cedar fever" to describe the awful allergic reaction they had. I'm still very glad that I moved away from Austin, Texas, for my health. :)

This old HEPA air filter does seem to be helping a bit.

p.s. My temp was 99.3F when I woke up this morning. It feels about the same now. Coincidentally, it was an allergy/sinus infection that gave me my record high temp of 103.4F, and that's when I made the decision to look for a job in a different climate.
