home sweet home
2020-Jul-20, Monday 05:05 pmI drove from work to home uneventfully until I reached my block. I turned onto the block, and a police car was parked the wrong direction on my left. In front of that house, I saw lots of kids and adults around. I parked my car, walked to my front door. I heard an adult voice crying.
I changed clothes inside. The crying was louder. I opened my front door, and a woman was wailing on the street in front of my house, supported by 2 other people. There are at least a dozen adults standing around in their front yard.
Either somebody died, or somebody had a child taken away. Or both.
This is the problem house farther down my block that I've mentioned before. (The house that prompted the "he's not a customer" comment.) Nothing is showing in my Citizen app or NextDoor app. I even peeked at the Facebook cesspool, but there's no mention there either. I have no idea what's going on.

Date: 2020-Jul-20, Monday 11:33 pm (UTC)A woman on the street said a man died at house #1. She didn't know what happened at house #2, but she said she didn't see them bring anyone out.

Date: 2020-Jul-21, Tuesday 09:32 pm (UTC)I still don't know what happened. I'm sure they sell drugs out of that house #1, so I'd assume an overdose of some kind. That doesn't explain why the police lingered for so long, though. There was never any police tape, so it apparently was never a "foul play" situation. There are balloons at their front door today, commemorating the death like all of the other curbside memorials around here.
Nothing mentioned about my block here either. *big shrug*
