my election prediction for 2020

This is the mail that was waiting for me when I got home today from work. It literally says "The radical left has taken over Joe Biden." and "Paid for by the Republican Party of Minnesota."

I AM the radical left, and I'm not voting for Biden! I am not voting for the neoliberal economic policies of center-right Joe Biden. That's why I joined yesterday's online convention by people like me wanting real alternatives. Seriously, there was a ton of policy and grassroots "common person" thinking in those hours. I never bothered watching either the Democrat or Republican conventions.
I know that Republicans must be worried about the increasing defections from their party to Democrats. The Democrats planned that allure; it's the same strategy they used in 2016. That's part of why Democrats are so far to the right now in their policies, and it's why I expect Democrats to lose again in 2020. Do not bring "the anointed candidate" to an electorate that wants and needs a populist to speak for the poor and suffering.
We have the center-right Democrats and the right-off-the-cliff Republicans, which leaves leftists, moderates, and working poor everywhere (aka, the majority of citizens who don't bother voting) wondering if anyone actually represents them any more.

Reporter: "I ask protesters: what are you doing in November and they say... I'm not showing up because Bernie's not on the ticket."

So the Republican Party lies about Joe Biden being radical left. It's utter nonsense. But lying is the only strategy that works for them. "Compassionate conservatism" now belongs to the Democrats. I'm not yet 100% committed (I haven't bought a yard sign, then you'll know for sure), but I probably will vote Green in November. Green Party policies represent my interests, and I've been very clear about my priorities for a very long time.

Michael Moore is already predicting a win for Trump as he did in 2016.
If Trump continues his path we will have a dictatorship within 4 years.
The US is fast becoming Germany in 1938. It already meets the 15 criteria for a Fascist state. We are in for a bumpy ride. This election may not actually mean anything but we have to try by defeating Donald Trump.

Date: 2020-Sep-02, Wednesday 03:58 am (UTC)For example, I've been clear that corruption is my 3rd most important political issue influencing my voting choice. Under both Democratic and Republican presidents and congresses, white collar crime is increasingly tolerated... to the point that Trump now has half a billion dollars of Russian-backed loans coming due while he sits in the White House.

Even tax evasion is increasingly ignored for the wealthy. Trump is a great example of that trend, but he is not the sole cause of these many 2020 pains. He is the vile eruption of disgusting symptoms from a much deeper disease. We restore balance by demanding substantial change. Acquiescing to calls for incrementalism or pre-Trump status quo (so-called "blue MAGA") are just a guarantee of continuing (even if only slower) decline as shown in the chart above. I hoped the Democratic Party would learn a useful lesson from the 2016 election, but now in 2020 they're using the same playbook as before.
This endless cycle of "Sophie's Choice" must end. I choose not to self-suppress my demand for meaningful systemic change. I think the DNC's calculation is unwise. I warned in 2016, and exactly the same warning applies in 2020.
A successful Biden-Harris campaign will undoubtedly benefit many people, but I fail to see how it benefits my neighborhood specifically? My struggling #WarzoneInMinneapolis is where so many people lack even low-wage jobs. Desperate people here need their drug-torn families reunited, free medical care and counseling, effective pollution oversight, free education, basic income despite the absence of low-skill jobs, and worry-free housing. The residents in my Jordan neighborhood are human beings and deserve much better "general welfare" from their national government than the usual cycle of politicians swapping out the team colors in Washington.
