police again

Our Minneapolis police did "the thing" again. It started as a legitimately bad situation, but this time the police aren't even saying what prompted their shooting a man and killing him this morning.A man started shooting from his apartment, even through the walls into neighboring apartments. Police came, and they got everyone inside to safety. Good, that's what we want. Then hours go by, and police don't alert the community to the ongoing danger. Instead, we learn through social media word-of-mouth. In the wee hours today, they shot him. No explanation why.
This happens with a backdrop of yesterday's news from the Uvalde massacre, a video release that had the audio removed. Someone on Twitter wisely saw the similarity of that redaction to the Hemingway challenge to write a compelling story in only 6 words.
"Children's screams removed, too graphic" makes Hemingway's "baby shoes" story sound like a comedy.

This is our country now.
Edit 2022 July 15: It must be bad. The police released a report with 26 of 28 pages completely redacted. Why did they kill Andrew Tekle Sundberg?
Edit 2022 July 16: Two snipers killed him. Still no idea why they felt compelled to shoot at that moment. Like Uvalde, police prevented family from intervening. Bonus outrage: Police lied to the family that they would use only rubber bullets.
