neighbor trees are cut down today

I intended to remove some tall wildflowers from my alley this morning, so I could throw some clover seed before this evening's rainfall.  When I got outside, though, I saw these guys working to cut down 2 trees from the neighbor's backyard.  They were frequently using the area where I needed to dig up plants.  So, instead, I watched them work for a while and came back in the afternoon while they were on lunch break.

They cut down the almost-dead tree on the left of the crane in this picture.  Afterwards, they cut down the tree immediately to the right of the crane too.  Hard to tell in this photo, but it was very unhealthy.

There are 3 other box elder trees bordering my yard that I wish would go away too, but they're not yet unhealthy enough to be a bother to anyone except me.  Two of them provided UNwanted shade in my back yard, and one of them gives squirrels a route to reach my roof and romp around noisily.  All of them harbor box elder bugs that swarm my house.

I got the wildflowers removed.  I got the clover seed thrown to the now-visible ground.  I transplanted a few more thornless blackberry canes.  I haven't accomplished much else today, but at least I got that done.
