mellowtiggerAt first, I didn't really have an opinion about the passing of the Queen. I remembered that she had both Covid and Long Covid, so I shook my head in distaste at the lack of mention of this detail in the news yesterday. But then I looked at Twitter and... whoa. Both black twitter and Irish twitter had something to say. I especially liked the "Another One Bites The Dust" tapdancing at Buckingham Palace (originally from 2022 January 18). The Queen's authority was neither entirely ceremonial nor entirely without social impact. I reminded myself that these angry voices had history on their side, which "SpiritOfLenin" and "Democratic Socialists of America" documented in their threads.
For a while, even "Betty White" was trending on Twitter, because people were asking why the double standard in treatment of old white ladies who died? People were quick to explain:
