almost sun

The word for the week was gloomy.
It's still overcast today, but it's the brightest sunlight we've had in almost a week. It's been just a steady sky of thick clouds and sometimes light snow.
Since Monday, we've had about 10cm/4in total of snowfall at my house. Not much daily, but enough to cause traffic crashes. The temperature as I write today is -8C/18F (wind chill -15C/5F). Still, though, not nearly as bad as the 1.2m/4ft snow forecast farther east due to the lake effect snow from the Great Lakes moisture.
I've lived in Minnesota almost a quarter-century, but I've still not seen a proper blizzard like that. I'm a little bit disappointed. At least farther east, they'll see warmer temperatures that melt the snow even during winter. Here... not so much. Our long term forecast includes a few days with highs slightly above freezing. Hopefully they'll arrive as predicted.
Edit 2022 November 19 Saturday:
They got as much as 2m/77in of snow in one city of western New York state.
