The word for the week was gloomy.  overcast day with snow in yard, street, and on rooftops in Minneapolis 2022 November 18 FridayIt's still overcast today, but it's the brightest sunlight we've had in almost a week.  It's been just a steady sky of thick clouds and sometimes light snow.

Since Monday, we've had about 10cm/4in total of snowfall at my house.  Not much daily, but enough to cause traffic crashes.  The temperature as I write today is -8C/18F (wind chill -15C/5F).  Still, though, not nearly as bad as the 1.2m/4ft snow forecast farther east due to the lake effect snow from the Great Lakes moisture.

I've lived in Minnesota almost a quarter-century, but I've still not seen a proper blizzard like that.  I'm a little bit disappointed.  At least farther east, they'll see warmer temperatures that melt the snow even during winter.  Here... not so much.  Our long term forecast includes a few days with highs slightly above freezing.  Hopefully they'll arrive as predicted.

Edit 2022 November 19 Saturday:
They got as much as 2m/77in of snow in one city of western New York state.
