Oh, hey, it worked. Can't edit the post to add text afterwards, though. When I tried, the preview version eliminated the voice post entirely. Didn't want to risk losing the recording, so I opted for a reply instead.
I took the "short loop" today. I don't have an odometer so I never know speed or distance, but I'd guess it at a 5 mile round trip distance. It has lots of elevation changes too, so it's a decent workout. More so today. weather.com says it's 20mph steady with gusts to 30mph. Exhausting.
More people than usual out today. Guess lots of people are playing hooky this friday.
Hrmmm. My voice is "all over the map", it seems to me. (Not this recording in particular, just my experience in general.) Sometimes all rumbly, sometimes all squeaky. I've wondered more than once how I manage to sing when it seems like I have no consistent control over the pitch of my voice.
The variation in loudness (from the cell phone sampling then the mp3 compression re-sampling) is very distracting. If I try it again, I'll probably just put a microphone on my computer to make my own mp3 rather than take my cell phone out with my bicycle during a ride.
Unless... *ponder* Naw... I guess a cell phone mic wouldn't really be able to pick up environmental sounds instead of me talking. (like the waterfall noise. or the bird calls. or water lapping against a fallen tree.)
