about work

At work, we are officially in the "blackout" period, where time off and non-essential meetings are both strongly discouraged. The next semester starts on Monday, and the workload is more intense than usual because of it. I was especially tired this week because my official work schedule last week was rearranged to accommodate the extra days of holiday. I worked Thursday and Friday, then only had Saturday off, then I worked the next 5 days. It's less intense than last year, but it's still exhausting.

I need a mental holiday. I'm glad to finally have my 2 days of "weekend". I'm tired of listening to people's problems all day long as my official job duty. When do I get to generate some problems of my own that somebody else has to fix? I feel like it's my turn now. (I figure physical therapy was once such episode recently. It's definitely a good thing to have the "helpers" available.)

I can definitely see how a person would get tired of listening to other people's problems all day long!

I have a friend who is a therapist, and I don't know how she does it.
