Really neat concept. From 2007, I think. I'm guessing they never actually produced one?
Perfect for the kitchen of a small, one-person mini-house. All my dishes could be stored/cleaned in the little cabinet. Supposedly the plants would produce the detergent used during the wash cycle (displayed on the timer). What plant species? What chemical do they produce?

Date: 2009-Jan-08, Thursday 05:26 pm (UTC)Pokeweed! I had heard of that plant before, but the only thing I knew about it was that I had a vague sense of its poisonous nature. I'll have to see if I can get a few seeds to experiment with growing it during the short season up here in Minnesota.
There's a version that can grow all the way up north in New York state, so maybe there's even a variant that can survive in Minnesota winter without my having to save seeds from the harsh outdoors.
