Yesterday, the repair tech from CenterPoint Energy came to work on my refrigerator. He couldn't find anything wrong, but he believed my account of what happened and replaced some thermoregulator device, I think? At least the old machine got someone to look at it, and it's working fine right now. I wore my mask the whole time (you know why) that he was in the house, and I aired out the kitchen for a short while after he left.

Today, I finally had someone pick up today that old air conditioner unit that's been sitting in my "dining room" for 8 years, unopened, just taking up space. I donated the whole thing to Habitat For Humanity (famous in part thanks to former president Jimmy Carter) via their ReStore. The guy who picked it up was impressed by it and seemed very thankful to load it onto his Habitat for Humanity truck.

Next Thursday, I have another appointment with CenterPoint Energy, but this time to have someone come inside and tell me if my house is suitable for ductless A/C. Unfortunately, because of the weird "barn" style upper floor, I'm not certain that there's enough vertical wall space to place one of those units into the wall to provide cooling and heating that would be very welcome in both bedrooms. There are air ducts in this house that go to the second floor from the basement, but you wouldn't really know that they work because the air flow there is awful. With new windows (someday) and in-room heating/cooling (hopefully), this place would be much more livable. Plus, it would let me switch to electric instead of gas heating, which is a very welcome carbon-less change. My electricity for this house is bought from renewable wind farm.

I still need to see an optometrist and get new glasses, but my mental stamina is not high enough yet for that much organizing in my life.

Now that I finally have that a/c unit out of here, I should focus on reorganizing my work/play computer desks.
