I know, it was only a few weeks ago that I mentioned games on sale at Steam. The year-end game ranking and game sale has arrived.
I like building, exploration, and roleplaying. Here are my recommendations for those kinds of games, in no particular order:
I like building, exploration, and roleplaying. Here are my recommendations for those kinds of games, in no particular order:
- Timberborn, 20% off, still in development but already huge fun, I highly recommend this uncommon title
- Cities: Skylines, 75% off, a 5-year-old title with tons of YouTube videos, a sequel is in development
- Starmancer, only 10% off, still in development, but it has potential so I mention it here
- Titan Quest, 75% off, an old classic
- Stardew Valley, 30% off, one of my all-time favorites
- No Man's Sky, 50% off, I spend lots of hours here still
- Nebuchadnezzar, 30% off, still in development
- Arcanum, 35% off, one of my all-time favorites, but the graphics have not aged well at all
- Sim City 4, 85% off, although you're still giving money to Electronic Arts
- Frostpunk, 70% off, very good although quite depressing; many of my cities died before I finally won once and then left it behind for less depressing scenarios, a sequel is in development
- Opus Magnum, 50% off, a puzzle game from the makers of SpaceChem
- Banished, 66% off, an excellent game in minimal hard drive space (a good remake is in development, not yet on sale)
- The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, 60% off, another old classic
- Oxygen Not Included, 60% off, an amusing 2D survival game (it reminds me of Rimworld, although the visual style is different)
